Unit 8 blog

I can't say that I am really have an opinion about the blogs because I have not been a great blogger. This is something that I have to do by leaving post note reminding me to blog. It doesn't help when someone throws the post it notes away behind you. If I had to do this again, I would probably put it on an electronic calendar so the evidence would not disappear. Could it be my wife or my son? I try to tell them that they can do too much cleaning around the house. I would like to see us continue our blogs after the term just to keep up with everyone.

Good luck
Well, I can't say that I feel like I accomplished a lot this term due to this being my most difficult term in completing my work. I will feel relieved after this week with my paper but I also start my degree work at the local university. I would not say that I am not nervous just over whelmed. I do feel that I have accomplished in my writing but everyone has a need to improve. As for working on an additional research I will let you know after I help my son complete his papers for his school. By the way did I tell you that my wife is working on her Masters in Education. Only two more semester to go with her degree.

Good luck whom ever reads this blog with the rest of the term.

Have you every wish that something would end? I would have to say that sometimes I wish this term would end. I don't know if it is going back to work, school and getting ready for the Christmas season. Maybe I will get back on track and get things together.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

It is beginning to look like Christmas and we are getting busy with school, work, church and my son's band concert. Tonight was a great night as we attended my son's beginning band concert. It is hard to believe that he has been practice for 12 weeks. WOW!

I am so far behind and got to get ready and finish my government paper. This has been a busy week. Where did time go?

Chat later!

Saturday, December 5, 2009

It's Saturday morning, a time I usually enjoy but this term it is a time I have now dedicated to working on my school work. This term is really been tough for me. My least favorite class has a better grade then the class I like the most. Go figure! Got to stop blogging and get back to my work.

Why we should cite our reference.

Based upon your reading on plagiarism, why do you think we need to cite our sources?
• What would you do if someone used something you created without giving you credit?
• Consider some of the real-world plagiarism issues you have learned of that include professionals. How should those issues be handled?
• Does the Internet blur the lines of “legally owned”? Consider sites like YouTube and Wikipedia.

First I believe we need to cite our sources because someone has worked hard on their own work and they deserve the credit for their labors. Also, not citing a reference is the same as stilling something from the original author(s). If I had a publication that I had created I would contact the person and ask them to cite my work. Then I would contact the person they sent the work too and let them know that someone has plagiarized my material. As for real-world plagiarism, I am not aware of any plagiarism issues but if I had I would first go to the person doing the plagiarizing and let them know that it is work to take credit from something that is not their own, just incase they were not aware of such professional courtesy. When it comes to blurring legally owned before last semester I was not aware that Wikipedia was some ones interpretation not a reliable source. I never think about YouTube except for a trying to find funny videos or how to videos. So I think that we have to be aware of the references we use to make sure that we are not plagiarizing.
